I consider CK
such a safe and effective procedure that I had
it performed on myself. I really enjoy the
convenience of not needing reading glasses for
almost all of my daily tasks. I sincerely
recommend it for qualified patients who are also
tired of using their reading glasses. I love my

I am a
board-certified ophthalmologist, who has
practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Hawaii since
1977.In addition to general ophthalmology and cataract
surgery, I have a special interest in refractive
surgery.
In fact, I was instrumental in initiating the first
ophthalmology operated excimer laser center in Hawaii
I have performed delicate eye surgeries for over 25
years. I pioneered various refractive procedures and
was one of the first doctors to bring CK to
Hawaii. I have been chosen as one of the Best Doctors in
Hawaii by Honolulu Magazine and also listed as
one of the Best Doctors in America.
After
graduating from Thomas Jefferson University's
Jefferson Medical College, at 22 years of age, I completed
my
training in ophthalmology at the Thomas Jefferson
University-Wills Eye residency program in Philadelphia
under the late Thomas D. Duane,M.D.
I have been a
participant in several medical missions to places such
as the Philippines, Vietnam and China. In these places
he performed and taught cataract and refractive
surgery.
I am also a computer buff and started the premier web site

in 1995;and for ophthalmic antiques. named eyeantiques.com
in 2001; honolulueyeclinic.com in 1999; and of
course, this site, ckhawaii.com in 2004.
For exercise, I
enjoy walking between my home and office at the Queen's POB II.
